Do Hertel® products have an expiry date? Hertel® cleaning products do not have a precise expiry date, although they do not last indefinitely. To preserve their cleaning power as long as possible, they should ideally be stored in a dry place at moderate temperatures. When a product is not good anymore, it does not become dangerous, but it becomes less effective. Also, store products in an upright position and avoid freezing them.

Which product should I use to clean hardwood floors? Use Hertel® Multi to wash and shine hardwood floors; no need to rinse.
Can I mix two or more household cleaning products for better results? Unless specifically indicated on the product label, it is not recommended to mix household cleaning products. Ingredients in cleaning products may cause a chemical reaction that can release harmful or unpleasant substances.
Are Hertel® products tested on animals? It is a long-standing company policy that none of our products are tested on animals under any circumstances.
Are your products safe for septic tanks? If used as recommended on the label, Hertel® products are safe for septic tanks. Usually, products are mixed with water before going into the septic tank. Therefore, the product is considerably diluted and contains a very low concentration that is safe for the bacteria in the septic tank. Also, most Hertel® products are biodegradable, environmentally friendly and do not contain phosphate. However, it is not recommended to pour our cleaning products directly into the septic tank.
Which Hertel® products should be used to clean acrylic bathtubs or shower stalls? Hertel® Bathroom is specially formulated to eliminate soap scum and hard water stains, and is safe on acrylic. You can also safely use Hertel® Plus1, Hertel® Bathroom with La Parisienne® Bleach2 or Hertel® Multi.
I have to use an ammonia-free product on my new solarium; what should I use? Hertel® Multi does not contain ammonia and it will make your solarium shine.
Why can't I find Hertel® Effex anti-fog anymore on the shelves? We do not make this product anymore; it is obsolete. You can use Hertel® Glass & Surfaces or Hertel® Multi to clean your windows.
Why can't I find Hertel® Heavy Duty anymore on the shelves? We do not make this product anymore; it is obsolete. What surfaces can I clean with Hertel® Plus? Most surfaces can be cleaned with Hertel® Plus, with the exception of glass. You should be careful when cleaning fragile surfaces, especially if they are painted, varnished or plastic. Hertel® Plus is a powerful and highly effective tough-stain remover. If you have any doubts about the surface you are about to clean, try Hertel® Plus on a hidden area.
Does Hertel® Plus contain bleach? No. Hertel® Plus contains a superior-quality disinfectant but it does not contain bleach.
Why doesn't the Hertel® Plus sprayer work on the 1-L bottle of Hertel® Plus? Hertel® Plus 1L is a refill for the 700-mL bottle. You have to pour the product into the 700-mL bottle; the sprayer does not fit onto the 1-L bottle.

Hertel® Multi is not as thick as it was before. Is it still as efficient? Hertel® Multi is as efficient as before. The formula was modified slightly to allow the product to run more freely out of the bottle and limit the waste caused by a higher viscosity. We made this change after many requests from consumers.
Does Hertel® Multi contain ammonia? No, it does not contain ammonia, therefore, it is ideal for all polymer surfaces.
Can Hertel® Multi be used to wash clothes in the washing machine? This product has been formulated to clean various household surfaces, but not fabrics. Therefore, we do not recommend you use it in the washing machine.
Is Hertel® Multi the same product as Hertel® Wash & Shine? Yes, only the name has changed.
